Weather+ Impact
Free weather alerts, worldwide, tuned to how weather affects each subscriber's work and family - with an impact record we publish only as it is verified.
Early warnings are among the best investments on earth.
Weather+ is new, so its own numbers start at zero - honestly. The case for building it is not new at all:
24 hours can cut damage ~30%
Just 24 hours' warning of a coming storm or heatwave can cut the ensuing damage by 30 per cent - and US$800 million spent on early warning systems in developing countries would avoid losses of US$3 - 16 billion per year.
More than 10,000 → 38 deaths
Odisha's 1999 Super Cyclone killed more than 10,000 people. Fourteen years later, with days of advance warning and close to a million people evacuated, Cyclone Phailin's official death toll stood at 38.
≈1,190 lives a year
A peer-reviewed evaluation of Ahmedabad's Heat Action Plan - South Asia's first, built around early warnings - estimated roughly 1,190 avoided deaths per year after the plan was introduced.
1 in 3 unprotected (2022)
When the UN launched its Early Warnings for All initiative in 2022, one in three people globally - nearly twice as high a share in Africa - was still not covered by early warning services. Weather+ exists for that last mile.
Every figure above was verified against the named primary source before publication; we update this page if a source is revised.
Eighteen ways the sky decides a day
Every subscriber tells us how weather affects them - so alerts fit, and impact can be measured per community:
From spray-day timing for a farmer to a go/no-go call for a fisher to a check-in reminder for someone caring for an elderly parent - the same forecast, put to work differently for each life it reaches.

Counters publish automatically once the alert service is live and numbers are measured - Weather+ never shows an estimate as impact. Verified outcome stories will appear here after the first season of feedback.
Impact is a claim. We treat it like one.
- Per-community tracking. Subscribers, alerts and outcomes are recorded per use case - farmer impact is measured differently from fisher impact.
- Seasonal check-ins. Short feedback questions to each community: did an alert change what you did? What did it save?
- Only verified numbers. Survey-confirmed outcomes graduate to this page; everything else stays an internal working figure.
- Honesty both ways. We publish the unsubscribe rate too - a warning service people leave is not working.
Be the reason a warning arrives on time
Register yourself, or help someone who needs it most - a parent, a farm worker, a fishing family - enrol in one minute, in their language.
