Donation Policy
How donations to Bhalai Foundation are used, receipted, refunded in case of error and handled for tax and compliance purposes.

Thank you for choosing to support Bhalai Foundation. This policy explains how donations are used, how receipts are issued, what tax status applies, and how donation errors are handled.
1. How donations are used
Donations may support program delivery, volunteer coordination, candidate and student support, Waste2Worth drives, Forest Forever and Earth+ activities, digital access and learning programs, financial literacy and health awareness clinics, community outreach, technology and GIVE+ proof systems, and field coordination, operations, compliance and administration.
We aim to direct the majority of contributions to program delivery and verified support costs. A responsible portion — up to 20% — may support operating and enabling costs so Bhalai can run sustainably. Without coordination, reporting, technology, compliance and field work, impact cannot be delivered or proven.
2. Program-specific donations
If you donate to a specific program, we will use the donation for that program or a closely related purpose. If the program is closed, postponed, over-funded, cancelled or no longer feasible, Bhalai Foundation may use the donation for a similar program aligned with its mission — for example, a device-support donation may fund refurbishment, logistics, student access or digital learning.
3. Receipts
Receipts are issued after successful payment confirmation and complete donor details. Receipt timeline: within 7 working days. Please ensure your name, email, phone, address and PAN are accurate if a receipt or tax documentation is required.
4. Tax deduction status
Bhalai Foundation's 12A and 80G registrations are recorded as 12A: AABCB4815FE20261 and 80G: AABCB4815FF20261. Donors should verify the 80G details printed on their receipt before claiming any income-tax deduction; certificates are available on request.
5. Foreign donations
Bhalai Foundation is currently not accepting foreign contributions unless and until FCRA readiness, approvals and banking arrangements are confirmed. If you are outside India, a foreign citizen, or donating from a foreign account or card, please contact aditya@bhalai.org before donating.
6. Donation made in error
If you made a donation by mistake, entered an incorrect amount, or believe a payment was duplicated, write to us within 48 hours of payment. Refunds are reviewed case by case; if the donation has already been receipted, allocated, used or reported, processing may require additional review. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method; bank and gateway timelines apply.
7. Donor recognition and boundaries
Donor, patron or supporter names are published only with written permission, and anonymous giving is respected. A donation does not create any right to influence beneficiary selection, program decisions, partner selection, employment decisions, procurement or reporting conclusions.
8. Transparency
Bhalai publishes verified outcomes through GIVE+ where field records are available. Targets, estimates and completed activities are always labelled separately from verified impact.
